Winching

Winching is done with the P.T.O on the tractor. Ian says trying to keep the revs at about 2000 is usually best.

2. Hook the chain onto the winch and the log, making sure the gap in the hook is facing away from the pulling direction.

3.using the clutch lever on the winch to control the pull of the winch. Keeping away from the log as it may swing round anything it gets caught on etc. I was initially suprised at how fast the winch does pull the log- bit less gentle than i was imagining.

4. Try to keep the tractor in line with the pulling direction, to avoid any unneeded stress on the tractor, or it may tip/break.
